Backend Software Developer - C# / C++ – Full-time

Are you a technically skilled Backend Software Developer who wants to help build advanced autonomous drones?
At Hecto Drone, we develop autonomous drones for advanced operations. We work largely in-house across the entire technology stack – from software and electronics to mechanical design and drone assembly.

Due to strong interest and increasing demand, we are expanding our team. You will become an important part of our development team and work closely with fellow software developers, drone technicians, customers, and the rest of the organisation to develop robust and scalable backend solutions that support our drone platforms.

Your primary tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain highly reliable and stable backend software for drone control and fleet management. 

• Implement high-performance applications using C# and C++, ensuring robustness and scalability.

• Ensure system stability and fault tolerance through rigorous testing, error handling and performance optimization. 

• Work closely with embedded systems and hardware teams to integrate software with hybrid drone technology. 

• Optimize real-time data processing and communication protocols for drone operations.

• Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging to maintain high software quality and reliability.

We expect that you

• Have strong proficiency in C# and C++ development.

• Are responsible and able to work both independently and in collaboration with others.

• Have experience with backend development, API design, and system architecture.

• Have knowledge of multi-threading, networking, and real-time processing.

• Have understanding of software reliability principles, including failover mechanisms and error recovery strategies. 

It is an advantage if you

• Have experience from the defence sector or from environments with high requirements for quality and safety.

• Familiarity with embedded systems or hardware integration is a plus.

• Passion for aviation, robotics, or autonomous systems is highly desirable.
