About the positionAs part of our Cargo & Customs team in Copenhagen, you'll take ownership of customs processes and cargo coordination — leveraging your experience from the freight forwarding industry to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient operations. You'll work closely with colleagues in Oslo and onboard our vessels, and report to the Cargo & Customs Supervisor.
Your key responsibilities- Customs handling (DK & EU): Managing import/export processes, EU customs clearance, and providing commercial customs support for suppliers and partners — drawing on your practical experience from daily freight forwarding work.
- Cargo bookings: Handling and following up on inquiries, ensuring accurate data entry in Lynx, and coordinating task distribution with the Oslo office.
- Daily voyage follow-up: Maintaining close communication with vessels, terminal staff, and stevedores, including manifest handling and reporting to relevant authorities.
- Staffing & administration: Ensuring adequate staffing for vessel calls and approving working hours in Planday or equivalent systems.
- Operational support: Assisting the Oslo team and contributing to efficient daily operations across departments.
- Weekend duties: Part of the role, compensated with corresponding time off.
What we're looking forYou come from a freight forwarder or customs brokerage background, and you're used to working independently with customs documentation and client coordination. You'll be a strong fit if you have:
- Relevant experience from a freight forwarder, customs broker, or shipping agent — this is the background we're specifically looking for.
- Solid, practical knowledge of Danish and EU customs procedures, including import/export documentation and customs declarations.
- Experience handling cargo bookings and communication with terminals, shipping lines, or vessel operators.
- A commercial mindset — you understand that speed, accuracy, and service quality matter to customers and partners.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across international teams and time zones.
- Fluency in English; Danish or another Scandinavian language is a clear advantage.
- Familiarity with logistics and customs systems — experience with Lynx, Emma Systems, SKAT or similar tools is a plus.
