The AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) develops and implements strategic AI systems to help analysts and data scientists at DDIS spot and understand external threats to our security and interests.

DDIS works with massive and growing amounts of highly diverse data that, to be useful, needs to be standardized, labelled and analyzed. AI plays a crucial and growing role in all of these steps and in the way the data is transformed into valuable intelligence. We are looking for new colleagues to join the DDIS AI Center of Excellence to develop the AI solutions that will help us tackle these challenges.

Crucial tasks and responsibilities, among others:

• Implementing strategic AI-solutions in a data driven environment
• Help drive the direction of an AI-driven intelligence service
• Understanding very complex datasets and the matter of their importance that affects the security of Denmark
• Interact and collaborate with cross functional teams while balancing different interests

You and your background is important
We are looking for people who have a Ph.D. related to AI or machine learning or similar experience and people who have extensive experience in taking AIsystems into production.

We are specifically looking for candidates that have proven experience and outstanding competences in one or more of the topics below:

Computer Vision:

• Object detection/recognition/classification
• Applied AI within Remote Sensing
• Image/video labelling and classification

AI on Massive Graphs:

• Knowledge graphs
• Graph pruning
• Node property prediction, embeddings and disambiguation
• Link prediction

Orchestration and MLOps:

• Automatic deployment of AI
• Containerization and Orchestration of AI
• Automatic training of AI
• Model management, monitoring and versioning
• Dataset management and tagging

Agentic Research:

• MCP servers
• Agentic workflows
• State machines and state management
• Agentic tooling and efficient context management

Natural Language Processing:

• Text classification
• NER and entity resolution
• Entity linking
• Knowledge extraction from text
• Automatic translation
• Speech-to-text
• Training and finetuning of (Large) Language models

You don’t need to have experience with all of them, but please indicate in your application which fields you have experience with and how.

The Danish Defence Intelligence Service (FE) is Denmark’s foreign intelligence agency and works—both secretly and openly—to protect Denmark and Danish interests in a changing world.

We are not alone in protecting Denmark, but we are the only authority mandated to use special means to uncover what other states and foreign actors try to keep secret. It makes sense for us to contribute to peace, safety, and security for Denmark, both in the analog and digital realms, by identifying, assessing, advising on, and countering both current threats and emerging threats.

Your Salary Depends on Your Qualifications
Salary and employment terms are governed by the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant union, depending on your educational background. In addition, you may negotiate a salary supplement based on qualifications. The average working time is 37 hours per week, including a paid lunch break. The position includes a pension scheme paid by FE.

As an FE employee you are subject to special conditions. You must obtain security clearance and maintain it throughout your employment. As with the rest of the armed forces, you are required to be available for short-term deployments outside of Denmark.
