Data Engineer, Masterdata; DK - Esbjerg

Are you passionate about working with master data and shaping the backbone of future data solutions? Do you see data as the foundation for decision making, and are you motivated by designing and implementing robust data structures at Semco Maritime

Your position

As a Developer for Master Data Solutions, your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and optimize our master data framework together with our Master Data Manager. You will be the central force in creating scalable and reliable solutions based on SQL, dbt, and Snowflake, ensuring that our data foundation supports Semco Maritime’s growth.

At Semco Maritime safety is a core value, and in this role, you will contribute to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture while delivering innovative solutions. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector.

In this role, you will not only design and implement technical solutions but also engage with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, translate them into data models, and build robust, automated, and governed data pipelines.

Your place of work will be at our Global HQ located in Esbjerg, the hub of the Danish energy industry, right on the waterfront – views do not get any better than this. The position is full-time, and you can expect to travel 5-10 days per year.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As a Data Engineer within IT Master Data, you will be responsible for building, and optimizing our master data framework.

  • Design and implement dbt-based (SQL) data models for master data management.
  • Build and maintain automated pipelines in ADF, ensuring high-quality and governed data flows.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to configure and design master data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and audits, resolving issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce data standards, governance, and documentation.

Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for an outgoing and positive Data Engineer who is passionate about master data management and wants to leave their personal mark on it. You have a proactive and organised approach to your work and are eager to innovate and improve data solutions.

  • Strong expertise in SQL
  • Relevant education or degree within IT, engineering, or data.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience with master data management principles and practices.
  • Solid understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
