Firefighting Service Engineer

Are you an experienced service engineer with a background in offshore operations and hands-on knowledge of firefighting systems? At Semco Maritime, we keep critical safety systems running on some of the world's most demanding offshore installations — and we're looking for someone who takes pride in doing that well.

Your position

As a Firefighting Service Engineer in our Technology Solutions division, you will join a close-knit Service Team based at our Global HQ in Esbjerg, Denmark. Your work will directly support the safety and reliability of offshore energy operations worldwide — from routine maintenance to complex troubleshooting in the field.

This is a full-time position with significant international travel (100+ days per year). If you thrive in a varied, hands-on role where no two weeks look the same, this could be a strong fit.

”This is a great opportunity to work worldwide with high performance fire protection systems, take on complex challenges and build valuable experience in a specialised engineering field” – Nikolaj Søegaard, Manager, Service Firefighting

Your tasks & responsibilities

You will be responsible for the delivery, coordination, and execution of firefighting service and maintenance across our on- and offshore client base. Day-to-day, this includes:

  • Servicing, troubleshooting, and supervising firefighting systems (Water Mist, Deluge, Foam, Argonite, and others)
  • Planning and executing maintenance and installation work onshore and offshore
  • Preparing and reviewing work packages, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Providing remote technical support and contributing to tenders and quotations
  • Building client relationships and identifying service opportunities
  • Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards in all activities

Your profile & qualifications

We're looking for someone who is technically solid, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in demanding environments. You likely have:

  • A technical qualification in engineering or a related discipline (mechanical and/or electrical)
  • 1–5 years of experience in the offshore industry
  • Hands-on knowledge of firefighting systems in an operational setting
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
  • Relevant offshore certifications (e.g. BOSIET/OPITO) — or willingness to obtain them
  • Experience with work package preparation and safety documentation (RAMS)
  • The ability and willingness to travel 100+ days per year and work offshore

What we offer

You will be joining a high-performing, international team where safety culture is genuinely lived, not just stated. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and your base will be at our Esbjerg HQ — on the waterfront, at the heart of the Danish energy industry. As Semco Maritime continues to expand our service capabilities, there are real opportunities to grow with us.

Welcome to Semco Maritime

At Semco Maritime, we create change. For people. For projects. And for the global energy sector. With us, you will join a community of over 2,300 of the most dedicated thinkers and doers in the energy industry who are driving real change and making their own personal mark on the global energy landscape.

While everyone knows why the energy transition is vital, we are concerned with the journey. How to get there. By providing the answers needed to make change real. Because we believe that global energy ambitions can only be realized through hard work and clever pragmatic solutions. This is what we do. This is what we invite you to participate in.

Safety is at the core of everything we do, and we are committed to protecting our people, partners, and the planet as we work towards a sustainable energy future.

So yes, working for us will change the energy sector – and may well change you too.

Care to join the movement?
Change. With us.
