About the Role

Manzel Bazar is looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, and ambitious professional to take full responsibility for our Asian Department.

This is a key leadership position within the company and a unique opportunity to play a central role in one of Manzel Bazar’s most important growth areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding the department, strengthening supplier relationships, increasing customer engagement, and ensuring that Manzel Bazar continues to be a preferred destination for Asian food products and cultural specialties.

We are seeking someone who is ready to take ownership, drive development, and become an important part of the company's future success.

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Development

  • Hold full responsibility for the daily operation, development, and performance of the Asian Department.

  • Lead the continued growth and expansion of the department through strategic product selection and market development.

  • Identify new business opportunities, product categories, and customer segments within the Asian market.

  • Work closely with management to support Manzel Bazar’s long-term growth strategy and commercial objectives.

  • Take ownership of the department’s overall performance and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.

Asian Food & Product Specialist

  • Identify, source, and introduce authentic Asian food products based on customer demand and market trends.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and wholesalers.

  • Evaluate product quality, authenticity, Halal certification, and regional food requirements.

  • Monitor market developments, customer preferences, and competitor activities to ensure the department remains competitive and attractive.

  • Develop seasonal assortments and promotional activities around important cultural and religious events, including Eid, Eid ul-Adha, Diwali, Pohela Boishakh, and Durga Puja.

  • Ensure the department offers a relevant and diverse selection of products that reflects the needs of the local Asian community.

Language & Cultural Expertise

  • Serve and advise customers in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, and English.

  • Act as the primary cultural liaison between Manzel Bazar and the Asian community.

  • Provide expert guidance on products, traditions, and cultural preferences.

  • Handle customer feedback and inquiries professionally, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and trust.

  • Support the company in strengthening relationships with customers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise and support employees working within the Asian Department.

  • Organise daily tasks and ensure operational standards are maintained.

  • Train and mentor staff in product knowledge, customer service, cultural awareness, and departmental procedures.

  • Promote a positive, professional, and results-oriented working environment.

  • Support the development of a strong and knowledgeable team capable of delivering excellent customer service.

Operational Responsibility

  • Ensure the department is consistently well-stocked, organised, and presented to a high standard.

  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate ordering and replenishment of products.

  • Oversee merchandising, product presentation, and in-store displays to maximise customer engagement and sales.

  • Ensure the successful implementation of campaigns, promotions, and seasonal activities within the department.

  • Continuously improve operational efficiency, product availability, and customer satisfaction.
