The Novo Nordisk Foundation Biotechnology Research Institute for the Green Transition (BRIGHT) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) aims to accelerate the development of biosolutions and strengthen the bio-based economy. The Biofoundry is an important part of BRIGHT and ensures effective development and implementation of strain design procedures in our design-build-test-learn workflow using big data and data science. The Analytics team is part of the Biofoundry and is providing reliable, accurate and high-throughput analytical services by means of state-of-the-art analytical techniques. We are now seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join the team in providing BRIGHT with professional analytical services.
The job
As a Laboratory Technician in the Biofoundry Analytics Team you will be part of a dynamic international team where you will be supporting the on-going activities and projects. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Analytics and your immediate responsibilities will be:
Preparation of solutions and standards according to SOPs
Sample preparation (routine samples and samples for method development) according to SOPs
Analysing samples on our ICP-MS system and reporting the data to the relevant stakeholders
Maintaining equipment and ensuring their functionality (including HPLCs)
Waste handling
Writing and maintaining SOPs
Assisting HPLC users in their workflows

Education as a Laboratory Technician or similar
Experience from working as a laboratory technician in an analytical chemistry laboratory
Experience in routine sample preparation for HPLC, LC-MS and/or GC-MS analyses
Experience in running and maintaining ICP-MS system
Experience in liquid handlers used for automatized sample preparation procedures
Very good communication and collaboration skills
Very good skills in English (both oral and written) – our communication language is English
Experience in using MS Office
Well-organized with an interest in keeping the laboratory structured
Positive attitude
Ability to keep calm in a hectic environment

Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms will be based on the collective agreement with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT staff (HK/stat).
The position is a full-time position with a preferred starting date on May 1st, 2026 (or according to mutual agreement).
