International growing company is looking for a Marine Superintendent

We are currently in an interesting transformation - we are steadily growing and developing our business. We are working towards becoming even more forward-looking within our industry, and we are already in the process of increasing our focus on digitalization and streamlining work processes and our overall performance. That is why we are currently looking for someone who works systematically, is analytical and
wants to optimize our operations through an efficient HSEQ system as we continue our development.
Your key responsibilities are:
• Provide day-to-day operational support and technical guidance to assigned vessels.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, international regulations, and industry best practices.
• Conduct internal audits and vessel inspections, identifying areas for improvement and following up
on actions.
• Support and oversee tank cleaning operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and proper
documentation.
• Monitor and review vessel performance, including safety, operational KPIs, and crew competence.
• Assist in preparing vessels for vetting inspections, Port State Control, and other third-party audits.
• Participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of
corrective/preventive measures.
• Liaise effectively with Class Societies, Flag State, and Port State Authorities, as required.
• Review and update vessel operational procedures in alignment with the ISM Code and SMS.
• Promote and support a positive HSEQ culture across shipboard and shore-based teams.
Your role will be based at our HQ in Aalborg and travelling is necessary to support the implementation of improvements on the vessels as well as for internal and external audits and inspections.
Personal & professional qualifications:
• Preferably minimum of two years’ experience as a senior deck officer, ideally with command experience as a Master Mariner on oil and/or chemical tankers. Alternatively, prior experience as a Marine Superintendent in a shore-based role.
• Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and ISM Code.
• Experience with vessel audits, inspections, and safety management systems.
• Certification in Internal Auditing and Incident Investigation is considered a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of tank cleaning processes and cargo operations on tankers.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Professional fluency in English is required; knowledge of Danish is an advantage but not a requirement.
