Metal Cutter (Hunker)

We are looking for dedicated Metal Cutters (Hunkers) to join our team. The role involves preparing ships and offshore structures for safe dismantling using oxy-fuel cutting techniques. As part of our hunker team, you will work outdoors throughout the year on vessels and large offshore structures undergoing recycling.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare vessels and offshore structures for dismantling using oxy-fuel cutting.
• Work independently as well as alongside crane teams to ensure safe deconstruction operations.
• Maintain good housekeeping onboard vessels, keeping work areas safe and accessible.
• Perform fire watch and watchman duties during cutting operations.
• Prepare steel sections for safe lifting and removal.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience with heavy oxy-fuel cutting.
• Holds a §17 certificate (preferred) or has relevant experience in metal cutting or welding.
• Has experience from industrial, shipyard, or offshore environments.
• Understands and demonstrates a strong commitment to safe working practices.
• Is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Is willing to work at heights using appropriate training and safety equipment.
• Can communicate in basic English and enjoys working in an international team.
