Senior Scientist – Cell Therapy Analytics & Development

Senior Scientist – Cell Therapy Analytics & Development (ID: NCTG_260501)

About the role

Are you passionate about translating advanced stem cell biology into robust, development-ready analytical strategies? Do you thrive at the interface of cell therapy, functional genomics, and quantitative assay development?

We are looking for a Senior Scientist to play a central role in building next-generation analytical and translational platforms for iPSC-derived cell therapies. This position is ideal for a scientist who combines deep biological insight with hands-on expertise in assay development, multi-omics, and high-content phenotyping, and who is motivated to shape how cell therapies are characterized and advanced toward clinical application.

The position

As a Senior Scientist, you will:

·       Lead the design and implementation of advanced analytical assays supporting cell therapy programs, including potency, purity, and functional characterization.

·       Develop and optimize human Pluripotent Stem Cell (hPSC)-based cellular models and differentiation systems for translational and development purposes.

·       Drive integration of multi-modal datasets (e.g., transcriptomics, imaging, flow cytometry) to enable data-driven decision-making.

·       Establish and apply high-content imaging and phenotypic screening approaches for functional characterization of cell products.

·       Contribute to the definition of fit-for-purpose analytical strategies bridging early discovery, process development, and CMC requirements.

·       Collaborate closely across scientific domains (biology, analytics, process development, external partners) to align assay performance with translational needs.

·       Support and mentor junior scientists, students, or collaborators where relevant.

·       Contribute to external collaborations, scientific communication, and publication strategy.

Qualifications

·       To be our ideal candidate, you should have:

·       A PhD in biochemistry, stem cell biology, developmental biology, or a scientific related field, with extensive experience (10+ years) in mammalian cell systems.

·       Strong expertise in hPSC biology, including differentiation and disease-relevant cellular models.

·       Hands-on experience in cardiomyocyte differentiation from pluripotent stem cells, with understanding of cardiac developmental biology.

·       Proven experience in analytical assay development relevant to cell therapy (e.g., potency, purity, functional assays).

·       Hands-on experience with transcriptomic approaches (e.g., scRNA-seq) and their integration into biological interpretation.

·       Strong experience in high-content imaging, phenotypic screening, and quantitative cellular readouts.

·       Experience with CRISPR/Cas-based functional approaches and/or target validation strategies.

·       Solid background in flow cytometry, molecular biology, and advanced cell-based assays.

·       Deep understanding of developmental biology and gene regulatory networks, including transcription factor–driven cell fate decisions.

·       Experience working in cross-functional or translational environments, ideally bridging research and development.

·       Exposure to industrial or applied research environments (biotech or pharma) is highly desirable.

·       A track record of scientific publications and/or innovation.

·       Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred (but not required)

·       Experience translating hPSC-based systems into development or manufacturing-relevant contexts.

·       Exposure to GMP/GLP environments or regulatory expectations for cell therapy products.

·       Experience developing assays supporting manufacturing or process development decisions.

·       Experience working in early-stage or fast-moving environments bridging academia and industry.

Personal profile

You are a scientifically driven and highly collaborative individual who:

·       Thinks both mechanistically and translationally.

·       Is comfortable navigating complex biological systems and data.

·       Enjoys building new platforms and approaches from the ground up.

·       Communicates clearly across disciplines and stakeholders.

·       Thrives in a dynamic, early-stage environment with high impact potential.

Employment type: Permanent position, subject to standard probation period.

As an early-stage company, we offer a stage-appropriate compensation package with a clear path for progression as the company develops, alongside the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from long-term value creation.

Application
Please submit your application by email to recruitment@nordiccelltherapy.com, including your CV only, no later than 17 May 2026.

We kindly ask candidates not to include a cover letter or references at this stage. Selected candidates will be contacted directly for follow-up discussions.

Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and the position will be closed when we find the right candidate.
