We are looking for a skilled and technically experienced Project Manager to facilitate the design and manufacturing of critical components for our fusion plasma laboratory. The projects are centered around components and upgrades for fusion experiments. 

We are looking for a candidate to conduct the day-to-day development, coordinating with internal and external suppliers and ensuring strict financial planning and execution. 

The job
The responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

• Implementation and ongoing development of the projects
• Design laboratory set-ups with advanced configurations for development of innovative processes
• Take responsibility in implementing, testing and executing new and innovative solutions 
• Communication with national and international companies
• Initialize new projects with industrial partners and initialize funding-based collaborations

Qualifications:

• We expect you to have a master’s degree or higher
• You have at least 4 years of experience with all aspects of the project management cycle from development, coordination and implementation to evaluation, reporting and communication, preferably in relation to complex systems like fusion energy devices or similar
• Comprehensive experience with prototyping and innovation 
• Hands-on experience from developing innovative solutions, production, and construction of plasma devices
• Experience with (ultra-high) vacuum setups
• Excellent communication skills in English and Danish and Out-spoken character
• Networking and people skills
• Good understanding of the Danish/European visions and strategies within the green transition, especially within nuclear fusion
• Experience with funding for research and innovation

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC), or other relevant union.

The expected start date is 1 July 2026 (or as soon as possible) for an initial duration of 2 years. 

The primary workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, but travels in Denmark and abroad should be expected.
