IT Support Trainee

Then you might be the IT Support Trainee we’re looking for to join our IT Service Desk team at ABENA.

As an IT Support Trainee at ABENA, you’ll learn how to deliver great service and practical solutions to our 1,500 colleagues. You’ll join a strong team of 11 skilled colleagues, where informal communication and good humor are highly valued. With support from experienced teammates, you’ll help ensure stable daily operation of our IT services while building your skills within user support, troubleshooting, and documentation.

What will your day look like?

As our new IT Support Trainee, you’ll be curious, engaged, and ready to learn in a busy support environment. You’ll work hands-on with Microsoft 365, Azure (basics), Windows clients/hardware, and our ticketing tools. Over time, you’ll also be introduced to areas such as network basics, meeting room/AV solutions, monitoring, and standard operational tasks—always with guidance and a clear learning plan.

You’ll work in shifts between 08:00–16:00 or 07:00–15:00, and your tasks will include:

  • Provide first-line support for common incidents and requests (password/access issues, Microsoft 365, printing, hardware, Windows).
  • Support users via phone, Teams, and ticket system—triage, troubleshoot, and escalate when needed.
  • Work closely with your Service Desk colleagues and IT Operations, and learn our processes and tools through day-to-day mentoring.
  • Build your IT skills through structured learning and hands-on practice, and contribute to simple, user-friendly documentation in our knowledge base.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is currently in (or about to start) a relevant IT trainee/apprenticeship or similar education. Most importantly, you enjoy helping others, you take ownership of your learning, and you want to grow into a professional IT Supporter in a modern Microsoft environment.

We imagine that you:

  • Are service-minded and take responsibility for following up on users’ requests—while knowing when to ask for help.
  • Communicate clearly and patiently with users of different technical levels.
  • Are empathetic and able to create a good user experience—even when issues are stressful for the user.
  • Work in a structured way in a ticket system and can prioritize tasks based on urgency, impact, and agreed SLAs.
  • Are curious and proactive and enjoy learning new tools and documenting what you learn.
  • Speak and write Danish fluently and can communicate in English. German is a plus but not a requirement.
