We are seeking an experienced chef to lead our kitchen team at a busy Chinese buffet restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a menu that features a variety of Chinese cuisine, including traditional and modern dishes. The chef will also be responsible for ensuring that our buffet is always stocked with fresh, high-quality food that meets the needs and preferences of our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and create a menu that features a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

• Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and freshness.

• Manage kitchen staff, including cooks and food prep workers, to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

• Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the kitchen.

• Develop and maintain relationships with food vendors and suppliers to ensure that the restaurant has access to the highest quality ingredients.

• Stay up-to-date on food trends and incorporate new ideas into the menu as appropriate.

• Ensure that all food meets health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience as a chef in a Chinese restaurant.

• Knowledge of a wide variety of Chinese cooking techniques and dishes.

• Ability to lead a team and manage kitchen operations effectively.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

• Degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred but not required.
