Part-time optical engineer - DTU Physics

Interest in quantum communication technologies!

Candidate with some experience building optical lab setups, debugging and testing them, and optimizing their performance.

The job

  • Understanding the scheme and operation of the optical setup
  • Fine-tuning the performance of various optical components and electronic devices 
  • Operating high-precision motorized equipment as well as measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyser, etc.)
  • Acquiring the measurement data and performing analysis. 
  • Performing literature research and writing reports 

Our expectations of you
We expect you to have the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, physics, or mechanical engineering 
  • Some knowledge of optics and electronics 
  • Hands-on experience with Arduino / Raspberry Pi / Red Pitaya (strongly desired) 
  • Loads of enthusiasm to learn about quantum technologies 
  • Networking and people skills

Excellent communication skills in English

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The position is for a duration of 6 months, and the workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
