Job description In this project, we will investigate new techniques for constructing multiparty computation (MPC) protocols with dynamic committees. In this setting, each round (or each set of consecutive rounds) an MPC protocol is computed by a different committee of parties, potentially chosen at random and anonymously. Recent results have shown that this approach improves both scalability and adaptive security guarantees of MPC protocols. However, current literature lacks a full characterization of the (in)feasibility of realizing MPC in this setting, as well as techniques for realizing such protocols over (a)synchronous networks with mechanisms for assigning parties to roles in the MPC protocol.The research to be conducted in this project will establish the foundations for MPC with dynamic committees. One of the goals is to understand the fundamental limits of MPC with dynamic committees in different settings (e.g. computational versus information theoretical security) with respect to computational and communication complexities. Another goal is to construct protocols that achieve the best possible efficiency in each setting. Finally, we also aim at constructing primitives that allow for realizing such protocols, e.g. communication towards anonymous parties.The successful applicant should have a strong background in theoretical computer science, with a focus on cryptographic protocols. Previous research experience in consensus and multiparty computation protocols is most welcome. Moreover, the successful candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic about research in cryptographic protocols.

Salary and terms of employment Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Taxation’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and job structure for academic staff at universities.
Qualification Requirements The following qualifications are required:
- 3-year programme: candidates should have an MSc (or equivalent)
- 4-year programme: candidates should have a BSc and one year of university studies on Master level
The applicants will be employed and enrolled at the ITU University for a period of 3 or 4 years depending on the university degree level of the applicant.
