PhD scholarship in Post-Quantum Anonymous Credentials - DTU Compute

We are looking for a PhD student who wants to join the cryptography group in the CSE Section at DTU. You will work on the ACPA project in the field of Post-Quantum Anonymous Credentials. The position will start on 1 August 2026 or later. You should hold a master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and have a strong background in cryptography or mathematics as well as experience with cryptographic engineering.

Responsibilities and qualifications
You will work alongside the 4 permanent researchers and currently 6 PhD students and 2 Postdocs in the Cryptography Group at DTU. The main task is to explore and implement novel efficient anonymous credential schemes which remain secure against quantum attackers. 

You should have:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or a related field, with a specialization in post-quantum cryptography.
  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of cryptographic primitives or protocols.
  • Very good written and oral English skills

Approval and Enrolment  
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see DTU's rules for the PhD education

Assessment
We will short-list potential candidates and then conduct interviews with candidates that are deemed qualified. The assessment of the candidates will be made by Carsten Baum.

Salary and appointment terms 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 3 years. Starting date is 1 August 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
