Help Shape the Future Danish Transmission System Do you want to contribute to the development of Denmark’s future high‑voltage electricity transmission network, where major investments will be realized in support of the green transition?
As Power System Engineer in our Plant Analysis section of the Transmission Department, you will play a key role in ensuring power quality and system strength to manage transient events.
Your Focus: Harmonic Analysis / EMT Studies You will become part of a highly skilled team responsible for conducting harmonic studies, managing reactive power compensation, performing insulation coordination, and developing advanced models to support future transmission projects.
The team consists of twelve experienced power system study specialists from six various nationalities, who are committed to ensuring a robust transmission grid with high power‑quality standards and strong protection against transient disturbances.
As a team we bridge the gap between highly complex matters and the business needs to identify and handle risk. Currently we are focused on analyzing the amount of 400 kV cables that we can safely include in the power system and understanding transient implications with the Energy Island project.
We are looking to strengthen the team with expertise in two key areas:
- Harmonic analysis using DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Solid experience in transient EMT studies using PSCAD
Candidates who have experience in both areas are particularly welcome, but we also encourage applications from specialists with deep expertise in one of the fields.
This position is based in Fredericia (DK) and requires physical presence at the office at least 3 days per week. Please note that relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Performing harmonic studies for grid‑development projects to identify the need for harmonic filters
- Designing and locating harmonic filters
- Updating and developing harmonic models and analysis methods in DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Conducting EMT modelling in PSCAD, switching‑transient studies, and insulation‑coordination analyses
Your Qualifications and Skills We imagine that the ideal candidate:
- Hold a relevant degree in power system engineering
- Have experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory and/OR experience with harmonic studies
- Work analytically and systematically with complex simulation models
- Enjoy collaborating with specialists and stakeholders in a highly professional environment
- Experience with EMT/PSCAD analyses
- Coding and data‑handling experience in tools such as Python, is an advantage but not a requirement
- Basic working proficiency in Danish is an advantage
Special conditions The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. You can read more about security clearance on the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET)’s website. In individual cases, it may be necessary to carry out a background check prior to the security clearance process.
Do you want to make a difference together with us? We look forward to receiving your motivated CV no later than March 1st. Please already mark your calendar tentatively. We expect to hold the first interview online on March 10th and the second interview in Fredericia on March 18th.
