Project coordinator and measurement specialist - DTU Sustain

Interest in mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions from the waste and agricultural sector

We are looking for an experienced senior officer who will implement mitigation technologies regarding methane emissions from sources within the waste and agricultural sectors.

Project coordinator and measurement specialist
The starting point of the position is focused on field investigations regarding on-going projects in connection methane emission measurements and further development and documentation of mitigation efficiency of biofilter technologies to reduce methane emissions. The position includes both technical responsibilities (measurements, sampling), reporting, project coordination including cooperation with local authorities, farmers and facility operators, where emissions are being monitored and the technologies are being implemented.

You will be placed in the section Waste, Climate and Monitoring under the leadership of Prof. Charlotte Scheutz at DTU Sustain. This section includes a leading group of researchers within greenhouse gas mitigation and fugitive emission quantification.

Field experience and great overview
The candidate is expected to have documented experience in performing field investigations, where methods of determination of gas emissions, gas sampling and related techniques have been used. A high degree of self-leadership is required, since a lot of the work is performed off campus. Experience within greenhouse gas monitoring, demonstration of mitigation technologies at waste sites and biofilters to enhance methane oxidation is particularly relevant.

The work entails generation of large datasets, whereby management of such are relevant.

You will be part of a team working on related studies and projects. This team is reliant of a selection of measurement instruments and other equipment, where day to day communication and flexibility towards other team members’ needs is key. 

As you will be involved in research projects, a Ph.D. degree within a related field of research is required.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as a Senior Officer.

The position is a full-time position. Starting date is 1 March, 2026. The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
