Your position 
We are seeking a structured and skilled Project Engineer to join our Rig & Marine division. In this role, you will play a key part in executing offshore multidisciplinary modification projects on drilling rigs and specialized vessels. You will be part of a global team with more than 100 global colleagues, dedicated to delivering complex projects worldwide with safety as the highest priority. You will report to Nicolaj Frimann, Operation Manager.

The position is full time and is based at our Houston office, located in the hub of the energy industry. You can expect approximately 40-60 travel days per year, including offshore surveys and on-site project executions.

Your tasks & responsibilities 
As Project Engineer, you will support projects in accordance with agreed budgets, schedules, and quality requirements. Projects typically involve maintenance and modification work on floating units such as drilling rigs and special vessels. The scopes vary but spans all disciplines and project phases from engineering and procurement to construction and installation.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting large projects with technical inputs to keep delivery on time, quality, and cost
• Helping track progress and risks through recurrent project check-ins and reviews
• Making sure project work follows Semco Maritime standards, processes, and HSE requirements
• Taking the lead on smaller projects or work packages when needed, including day‑to‑day coordination
• Working closely with customers and internal teams to keep execution smooth and aligned

Your profile and qualifications
You are a strong ambassador for Semco Maritime’s safety culture and thrive in a collaborative environment. You are proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented, with a structured approach and keen attention to detail. You are comfortable working under demanding deadlines and able to build trust with customers and stakeholders alike.

To succeed in this position, we expect that you have:

• A higher technical education, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar engineering discipline
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the maritime or offshore segment
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other relevant engineering tools
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• A valid US work visa (e.g. Green Card) or US citizenship
• Availability for offshore and international project travel

(Valid offshore credentials are an advantage but not required)
