Overall Purpose
To support the delivery of maritime environmental compliance and decarbonisation services by acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. The role provides regulatory guidance, customer support, operational coordination, and commercial administration to ensure clients meet their compliance obligations while receiving a high standard of service.
The Regulatory Compliance Advisor maintains expertise in a specialist area while supporting the wider delivery of ESG and regulatory compliance services across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Advisory
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing timely and professional support on regulatory compliance matters.
Build strong client relationships and deliver a high standard of customer service.
Provide guidance on environmental regulations, compliance obligations, and available service solutions.
Regulatory Compliance
Support the delivery of services relating to EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, UK ETS, IMO regulations, and other emerging environmental requirements.
Monitor regulatory developments and communicate impacts to clients and internal stakeholders.
Assist with emissions reporting, verification, allowance management, and compliance activities.
Commercial & Operational Support
Support the administration of client contracts, service agreements, and commercial documentation.
Coordinate invoicing, financial tracking, and other operational processes associated with compliance services.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance activities are documented in accordance with company procedures.
Technical & Specialist Support
Provide analysis and insights to support client decision-making on regulatory compliance and decarbonisation strategies.
Act as a recognised specialist in an assigned area of expertise while contributing to the wider team's service delivery.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
Support internal and external audits and contribute to the development of effective processes and controls.
Work collaboratively across departments to improve service delivery, compliance performance, and customer outcomes.
Education & Professional Background
Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline such as Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, Business, or Law.
Experience working within the maritime, shipping, regulatory compliance, ESG, sustainability, engineering, or commercial sectors.
Experience in a customer-facing, advisory, or stakeholder management role.
Knowledge & Experience
Understanding of maritime environmental regulations and compliance frameworks, including EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, IMO environmental regulations, or similar regulatory schemes.
Experience supporting regulatory reporting, compliance processes, contract administration, financial administration, or technical service delivery.
Ability to interpret regulations and explain requirements clearly to clients and colleagues.
Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions to deliver services and resolve issues.
Familiarity with audit, governance, or process-control environments is desirable.
