We are seeking one or more technically skilled and service-oriented Research Support Specialist to join the Research Support team at the SDU eScience Center.
The team serves as the primary point of contact for researchers, public-sector organizations, and private companies seeking to leverage advanced cloud, AI, and computing technologies provided by the SDU eScience center. As part of the team, you will help users adopt and exploit the center's digital infrastructure while contributing to the development of innovative solutions built on Denmark's national research cloud platform.
The position combines technical expertise, user engagement, and solution development. You will work directly with researchers and external organizations to understand their challenges, identify suitable technologies, and help translate ideas into practical services and applications.
We are looking for a person who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, research, and innovation. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a genuine interest in helping others succeed and can confidently engage with both researchers and external organizations to create impactful digital solutions.
Key responsibilities
Support researchers, public institutions, and companies in using the center's cloud and computing services.
Provide technical consulting and guidance on cloud-native solutions, container technologies, and digital workflows.
Collaborate with users to design and implement new applications, and research solutions on the center's platforms.
Contribute to user onboarding, training activities, documentation, and community engagement.
Work closely with the center's infrastructure and development teams to improve services and user experience.
Required qualifications
Relevant university degree at Master's level or higher in computer science, software engineering, data science, engineering, natural science or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience from a university, research organization, technology-oriented company, or cloud service provider.
Demonstrated experience with cloud technologies, container platforms, and modern software deployment practices.
Experience with Linux environments and software development or automation tools.
Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical users both in English and Danish.
Desired qualifications
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architectures, or related technologies.
Experience supporting research computing, data-intensive applications, AI workloads, or scientific software.
Experience working directly with customers, users, or external partners to develop technical solutions.
Familiarity with high-performance computing in Europe, research infrastructures in Denmark, or public cloud platforms.
While the positions offer flexibility and the possibility of remote work, the candidate is expected to be on-site in Odense.
