Resident Hotel Musician / Multi-Instrumentalist – Denmark

Live and Work on a Beautiful Danish Island

Ærø Hotel is looking for a talented and versatile musician who can create a warm, intimate and welcoming atmosphere for our guests through live music.

Our guests are primarily mature leisure travellers from Denmark, Sweden and Germany who appreciate quality entertainment, good hospitality and a relaxed atmosphere.

About the Position

The position is available as soon as possible until the end of September 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

We are looking for a musician who can perform approximately 25 hours per week, typically spread across 6 days per week.

The role is ideal for a musician seeking a seasonal position in a unique island setting, while candidates interested in a longer-term opportunity are also encouraged to apply.

Working Schedule

The position is approximately 25 hours per week, normally distributed over 6 days per week.

Work will typically consist of:

  • Live music in our bar and lounge area from 15:00–17:00 and again from 20:00–23:00, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

  • Live music in our restaurant from 18:00–21:30 during dinner service.

Not every day follows the same schedule. Some days will be spent primarily in the bar area, while others will focus on creating atmosphere in the restaurant.

Your Role

Your primary task will be to create a pleasant atmosphere through live music.

We are not looking for loud concert performances, but rather a musician who understands how to enhance the guest experience through tasteful, professional and engaging entertainment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Plays piano, keyboard or electric piano at a high level.

  • Preferably also plays guitar or additional instruments.

  • Has a broad repertoire suitable for a mature audience.

  • Can perform both instrumental music and vocal performances (an advantage, but not required).

  • Is comfortable playing both background music and more interactive sets when appropriate.

  • Has a professional and positive attitude.

  • Enjoys working with people and contributing to memorable guest experiences.

  • Speaks English sufficiently for daily communication.

  • Spanish-speaking candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. Several members of our team speak Spanish, making it easier to settle into daily life and work at the hotel.

Additional Working Hours Available

For candidates interested in working more than 25 hours per week, additional hours can be offered in other hotel departments, depending on experience and interests, including:

  • Housekeeping

  • Breakfast kitchen

  • General maintenance and outdoor work

  • Other practical hotel tasks

This may allow the position to become a full-time role for the right candidate.

We Offer

  • Seasonal employment until the end of September 2026, with the possibility of extension.

  • Employment at a well-established hotel with approximately 100 rooms.

  • A friendly and multicultural working environment.

  • Spanish-speaking colleagues already working at the hotel.

  • Assistance with accommodation.

  • Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

  • The opportunity to live and work on one of Denmark's most beautiful islands.

  • Long-term employment opportunities for the right candidate.

Important – Eligibility to Work in Denmark

Applicants must be citizens of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland and hold a valid European passport or national ID card.

As we are unable to sponsor work permits or visas, only candidates who already have the unrestricted legal right to work in Denmark will be considered.

Applications that do not meet this requirement will unfortunately not be considered and will not receive a response.
