Scientist with expertise in bioinformatics for a research project in the crossfield of cancer genomics and immunology

Department of Clinical Immunology, Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet
Start date: 01.03.2026 or by agreement

We are seeking a committed and independent scientist with a background in genetics and expertise in bioinformatics to join a highly specialized research environment at Rigshospitalet. The position is linked to a research project within neoantigen identification in acute leukemia. Neoantigens are very promising targets for immunotherapy, which we will identify based on long-read sequencing, in-silico neoantigen prediction, and immunological target validation. The project is primarily based at the Department of Clinical Immunology, but it is carried out in close collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the Center for Cancer Immune Therapy at Herlev Hospital, and Charité Berlin, Germany. The neoepitope prediction will be performed in collaboration with the Morten Nielsen group at DTU, and the candidate will therefore be expected to spend a minor part of the project period at DTU.

You will become a central part of an interdisciplinary team that combines modern genomic and immunological technologies in translational cancer research. The work includes both bioinformatic pipeline development, analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data, neoantigen prediction, and integrative data interpretation.

The position is linked to the Diagnostic Immunology Section, which performs diagnostic analyses on pediatric patients with leukemia/lymphoma in Eastern Denmark and is the national center for monitoring of minimal residual disease (MRD) for all Danish children and young adults with acute leukemia treated according to the joint European treatment protocols (ALLtogether/CHIP-AML22). In addition, the section covers diagnostics of immunodeficiencies, immunological dysfunction, and autoimmunity. The section also has a broad research profile.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:
• A master’s degree in bioinformatics or biology/biochemistry with a focus on computational analyses (cand.scient./cand.polyt.)
• Experience with analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data
• Experience with immunological analyses, neoantigens, and/or experience in cancer research is a clear advantage
• Works in a structured and independent manner
• A team player who thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration

Working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is currently limited to one year, but we aim to extend the position, possibly to a PhD project if relevant for the applicant, and if the progress of the project and funding allow it.

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the agreement for academics employed in the Regions, concluded between AC and the Regional Salary and Tariff Board.

Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting the project-responsible physicians:

Marius-Konstantin Klever MD, PhD (marius-konstantin.klever.01@regionh.dk)

Signe Modvig, MD, PhD, Clinical Associate Professor, Master in Bioinformatics, Consultant Physician (signe.modvig.stausboell@regionh.dk)

Application, CV, diploma, and any other relevant documents must be submitted via the link in the posting no later than Monday, February 1,2026.
