Software Manager - DTU Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Center for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE) and KT Consortium (KTC), the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) are looking for a motivated and skilled software manager.

The job
You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of software tools that enable external partners to use property databases, thermodynamic models, and unit operations, developed as part of research projects at both CERE and KTC. These software tools include but are not limited to the Integrated Computer Aided System (ICAS), CAPCO2, ThermoSystem, and ScaleCERE. You will be responsible for conducting workshops to demonstrate the applications of different in-house software tools. Frequently, you will receive requests to troubleshoot the existing tools for debugging. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in relevant research projects.

Our expectations of you
You must have an M.Sc. or PhD in chemical engineering, with advanced knowledge in chemical engineering thermodynamics and process systems engineering.

Ideally, you have solid experience in software development and an understanding of the computational challenges addressed in chemical industry and in academic research. You will work independently to apply new software engineering paradigms to the field of chemical engineering. It is required that you have working knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (especially C++/C#) and a database management system. Knowledge of CAPE-OPEN specification (a platform for connecting user model with chemical process simulators), COM, MFC, mixed language programming and FORTRAN will be an advantage. You are enthusiastic to bring AI techniques into chemical engineering thermodynamics and process systems engineering. You have excellent communication skills and can communicate complex ideas clearly in both written and spoken English.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. 

The weekly working time is 37 hours. 

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
