LOOKING FOR NAIL TECHNICIAN, COPENHAGEN!
Rosa Nails Studio ApS - København

Experimental R&D Researcher / Technician

About Wren Bioscience

Wren Bioscience is a Danish deeptech startup spun out of DTU Bioengineering. We are developing a rapid bacterial detection platform for the dairy and food industry, combining proprietary sample preparation, lateral flow assay (LFA) technology and a digital optical reader.

We are a very small team of engineers and scientists working across microbiology, biosensors, assay implementation, software and hardware development. Alongside our wet-lab work, we develop our own tools and analysis pipelines for processing and interpreting experimental data.

We are now looking for a hands-on wet-lab profile who enjoys practical experimental work and wants to help turn new technology into a robust product.

The role

We are looking for a broad experimental profile with a strong foundation in wet-lab work, microbiology, experience with bioinformatics, biological analytical methods and basic script-based data analysis.

The role is centred around microbiology and assay development but spans several parts of our development pipeline meaning the work is hands-on across experiments, sample handling, testing and data analysis, using results to guide the next round of work.

This is a hands-on role in a small deeptech team where you will contribute directly to both experimental development and the practical work required to bring a new bacterial detection technology towards commercial use.

Who you are

You have a basic understanding of the broader biosensor principles, be comfortable working with assays such as ELISA, and be able to connect experimental design with assay performance and data analysis.

  • You are practical, curious and comfortable working across disciplines. You take initiative and work independently.

  • You enjoy working iteratively, are comfortable learning new methods and technologies, and can shift between different types of tasks as priorities change, and you can work at a high pace without sacrificing scientific rigor.

  • As part of a small team, you are willing to contribute where needed and take responsibility for getting things done.

A strong plus: experience with biosensors, Bioinformatis and immunoassays. Training in lateral flow assay will be provided.

You should be comfortable taking ownership of your tasks, working independently and iteratively, and moving projects forward while maintaining clear and traceable documentation of experiments and results.

What we offer

You will work closely with our research engineer and have direct access to scientific sparring. At the same time, this is a role that requires a high degree of independence and initiative. We are a small team with many parallel tasks, so you should be comfortable identifying what needs to be done, moving work forward on your own and taking responsibility for your part of the development process.

The role offers broad exposure across microbiology, biosensors, assay development, data analysis and product development, with room to learn new methods and take on increasing responsibility as the company grows.

It should be noted, that working hours are generally within normal business hours. As in most early-stage R&D environments, there may occasionally be periods around deadlines, experiments or project milestones where some flexibility is needed.

Salary is based on qualifications and experience. We review candidates on a rolling basis.
