Senior People & Culture Partner

Impact Fund Denmark has changed a lot in a short time. We have grown quickly, welcomed many new colleagues and are becoming a larger, more international investment organisation. The same goes for People & Culture and we need and experienced People & Culture professional to strengthen our deliveries in the next phase.

The next phase is about making that growth work well: helping teams come together, strengthening leadership and building and implementing people practices that are robust enough for a more complex organisation without becoming unnecessarily heavy.

We are looking for a senior People & Culture professional with a proven track record across the full HR agenda, including culture and organisational development. You will bring experience and judgement that strengthen the whole function, with the ambition and potential to be considered for the Head of People & Culture role within three to four years. We also welcome experienced former Heads of People & Culture who want to contribute at this level as an individual contributor.

You will serve the whole organisation, where you will partner closely with senior leaders on organisational, leadership, performance and people questions. You will also take responsibility for selected People & Culture priorities and projects across Impact Fund Denmark.

You will be a senior sparring partner to the Head of People & Culture and Executive Management, bringing the confidence and experience to challenge established thinking, shape our people strategy and lead its implementation. We expect you to contribute expertise that colleagues across People & Culture, including its leadership, can learn from.

You will report to our Head of People & Culture.

What you’ll be working on

A part of your role will be spent working directly with leaders across our investment organisation. The questions will vary: how a team should be structured, what capabilities we need next, how to address and build performance, how we strengthen succession, or what senior management needs to know before making a people decision.

You will:

  • lead culture and organisational development initiatives, translating our values and strategic priorities into everyday leadership behaviours, stronger collaboration and clear accountability for performance

  • advise senior leaders and Executive Management on organisational, capability, performance and complex people matters across headquarters and regional offices

  • prepare analysis, recommendations and decision material for Executive Management and, when relevant, the Board

  • support organisational and job design as teams, mandates and responsibilities evolve

  • advise on employee relations matters within local employment law and our agreements across headquarters and regional offices

  • use people data to identify patterns, challenge assumptions and support better decisions

  • take ownership of selected People & Culture projects that cut across the organisation

  • work with People Operations, Finance and Legal to ensure that people processes have clear approvals, appropriate controls and traceable documentation, supporting compliance and auditability under the Danish standards on public-sector auditing (SOR)

  • work closely with colleagues in Recruitment, People Operations and People Development, and coach and mentor People & Culture colleagues to strengthen their business partnering skills and prepare them for broader responsibilities

We are currently a relatively lean People & Culture function. That means there is not a specialist team to hand work over to. If a recommendation requires analysis, a presentation, a new process or careful implementation, you should be comfortable taking ownership and doing that work yourself.

What a good first year looks like

After your first year, we would expect that:

  • Change has moved beyond discussion and design. You have taken ownership of important organisational or capability priorities and helped turn them into practical improvements.

  • Core processes work well. Performance, talent and compensation processes in your area are consistent, useful and delivered on time. Leaders can explain and document their decisions, and demonstrate that people resources are used responsibly and effectively in a state-owned organisation.

  • Leaders trust your advice and judgement. Senior investment leaders involve you early as a trusted advisor and challenger when important organisational or people questions arise.

  • Decisions are better supported. Executive Management receives clear, well-argued recommendations and useful People material from you.

What we’re looking for

There is no single background that will make someone successful in this role, but you will need substantial experience dealing with the full People & Culture agenda, strategy and policy work, senior stakeholders and an organisation that has really great people and leaders with massive potential.

We would expect you to bring:

  • substantial experience in a broad senior HR Business Partner, People Partner or People leadership role in international organisations

  • experience advising senior executives directly on organisational and people decisions

  • demonstrated experience across the full HR agenda, including people strategy, culture and organisational development, recruitment, leadership development, performance, talent and succession, reward, employee relations and HR governance

  • practical experience with organisational design and complex employee matters

  • strong analytical skills and an ability to turn complicated information into a clear point of view and useful recommendations

  • evidence that you can take work from diagnosis through to implementation rather than relying on large specialist teams

  • solid knowledge of Danish employment law and HR practice; knowledge of local employment law across our regional offices is considered an advantage

  • professional fluency in Danish and English

It would be useful, but is not essential, if you also have experience with one or more of the following:

  • financial services, investment or another complex, knowledge-intensive organisation.

  • working with Executive teams and Boards or preparing material for Executives and Board discussions

  • international HR

  • a lean or smaller organisation where senior People professionals remain in delivery

  • compensation, People Analytics, talent or succession

Where the role sits

This is a senior individual-contributor role with no direct reports.

You will be the main People & Culture partner for our investment organisation, working directly with senior investment leaders. At the same time, you will own selected priorities that matter across Impact Fund Denmark and work closely with the Head of People & Culture.

The role will suit someone who likes that combination: being in the room for senior discussions, then staying close enough to the work to make sure something actually happens afterwards.

You should be comfortable moving between an Executive Management discussion, detailed analysis and the practical conversations needed to implement a decision.

Why join Impact Fund Denmark?

You will have close access to the Head of People & Culture and senior leaders across our organisation. You will have considerable scope to influence how we organise, lead and develop our people as Impact Fund Denmark grows and consolidates.

You will also be joining at a point where the organisation is evolving. We are building the people foundation for a larger and more professional international investor, which means some things are already well established while others still need to be shaped.

And the organisation's purpose is tangible. Our investments support green energy and infrastructure, financial services, sustainable food systems and healthcare in developing countries.

Practical details

  • Location: Østbanegade 135, 2100 Copenhagen Ø

  • Position: Permanent, full-time, 39 hours per week including lunch

  • Hybrid working: We currently have up to 20% of working time from home starting after 6 months of employment. We believe being in office is important for successful onboarding and integration into team and organisation.

  • Application deadline: 23 September 2026

  • Please apply through our talent platform. Applications submitted outside the platform will not be considered.

  • We review applications on an ongoing basis.
