About the job We are looking for a professional who can combine technical and analytical skills with the ability to build trust and navigate a complex stakeholder landscape. You will join our bilateral Indonesia-Denmark Energy Partnership as a long-term advisor with the purpose of sharing your know-how about power sector modelling and energy sector development.

You will be embedded in Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), working closely with staff from Indonesian authorities, while maintaining a strong dialogue and collaboration with the Danish Energy Agency and the Embassy of Denmark in Indonesia.

Indonesia has set ambitious targets for expanding and decarbonising its power sector over the coming decades. Long-term energy planning plays a critical role in identifying pathways to achieve these objectives. In 2025, Indonesia adopted its first official long-term energy plan, outlining a pathway towards net-zero emissions by 2060.

You will provide technical expertise to MEMR’s Directorate General of Electricity (DGE), which leads the country’s long-term power sector planning using the Balmorel modelling framework. Working directly with national experts, you will support the development and application of power sector models and help translate analytical results into evidence-based policy recommendations for decision-makers.

Based at DGE, you will collaborate with a range of departments across MEMR in accordance with partner priorities and the agreed work programme.

About you We are looking for a dedicated professional with:

• Relevant education: A master’s degree or equivalent qualifications in energy or environmental management, economics, political science, engineering, or another field relevant to renewable energy and energy transition.
• Power sector modelling: Demonstrated experience with power sector modelling. Experience with tools such as TIMES, LEAP, Sisyfos-R, and/or Balmorel is considered an advantage but is not required.
• Relationship building skills: Experience with stakeholder management and professional relationship and trust building.
• Experience with the Danish energy sector: Experience and knowledge about Danish and international climate and energy policy, as well as a solid understanding of the Danish energy sector.
• Regulatory expertise: Solid and broad knowledge of the regulatory framework governing the Danish energy sector, preferably including technical, economic, and regulatory aspects. Familiarity with the Indonesian energy sector is considered an advantage but is not required.
• Clear and confident communication: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Ability to communicate complex analyses, knowledge, and insights affectively to both technical and non-technical audience
